"Die Clubmaschine" - Work-in-Progress presentation on 5/2/16 at mo.e Vienna

For about 8 months I am - together with Jorinde Schulz - writing on a longer text called "Die Clubmaschine", in which we are trying to analyse the multifaceted phenomenon of "Club culture" with a focus on what we call "the Platonic idea of the Club": Berlin's notorious Berghain. We try to put its myths into writing and analyse it with Deleuze & Guattarian concepts of the Machine, in the attempt of understanding it better, without coming to one master conclusion (rhizomatic thinking instead of tree-like concluding).
Excerpts of this text could already be seen at Philosophy Unbound #7 - Hedonism and we will soon publish an excerpt of the text - called Maschine-Werden (becoming-machine).
The text is not yet finished, but we have already developed most of its arguments. Mo.e invited me to present the text in its non-finished form as part of the "Polizey" program from 1st to 10th of February.
On the 5th of February at 20h I will do a work in progress presentation of the text, hoping for good feedback, criticism and a discussion of the phenomenon of the "Club" afterwards. The presentation will be held in German.

"The Anti-Chameleon and its reason(s)" Talk on 22/1/16 at Galerie de l'ERG, Bruxelles

This Friday, the 22nd of January 2016, I will give a little talk at the "Philosophy in the Dark"-Series of Galerie de l'ERG. The talk will be held in the complete dark and I'll use this to relate to you my love affairs with critics and the chameleon, which led me to become the Anti-Chameleon. In other words: I will propose a method of subversion, that is not necessarily critical, but tries to combine affirmation and critique in hopefully evading the downsides of both. I will demonstrate that the strategy of the Anti-Chameleon can be found in artistic strategies like those of The Yes! Men or Lars von Trier and will talk a little about its epistemological foundations, problems and limitations.
The talk is based on Jorinde Schulz' and my text "Das Anti-Chamäleon" and will be held in English.

as Visuals you will be able to see extracts of the upcoming text "Die Clubmaschine" by Jorinde Schulz and myself. It is the follow-up text and application of "Das Anti-Chamäleon" and tries to describe and analyse the club culture phenomenon (more detailed describtion in German see below).
