Virale Überaffirmation

I have felt quite lonely in the last few days in my thinking and doubting about Corona and the collective overaffirmation of government's actions and restrictions. At the invitation of the Austrian magazine on musical culture skug, I have reflected on the situation with some of my over-affirmative favorite tracks and tried to keep a differentiated picture in times of germinating community madness.

Corona Panic & Cold Panic - commentary on the Corona Pandemic for taz

 I have written a commentary on the current Corona-Panic for taz - die Tageszeitung. I argue that we might be witnessing a displaced emotional outburst originating from the "cold panic" (Isabelle Stengers' concept) of the slow realization of the ecological catastrophe we are living in.

performative Lesung der toxischen Gebete - Dokumentation

 The first Toxic Temple has closed it's gates. But be sure there will be others opening up in the not so distant future. Stay tuned, we will continue to venerate those that will outlast us!

"Nietzsche and Ecological Reason(s) in the Anthropocene" published at The Trumpeter - Journal for Ecosophy

I was able to publish a chapter of my ongoing PhD-project "Affirmation of Ecological Reason(s)"at The Trumpeter - Journal for Ecosophy. In it, I argue how Nietzsche can be regarded as a key-figure within the emergence of some "ecological reason" within occidental main-stream discourses. Find the abstract below and the paper here. 

"Ecosophical discourses around the ecological condition that is sometimes referred to as the “Anthropocene” require a fundamental rethinking of key concepts of occidental philosophy, including reason. Nietzsche’s body of work offers manifold tools for the rethinking of reason, and this paper seeks to apply them to achieve a “new ecological image of thought.” It will demonstrate 1) how there is a clear ecological awareness motivating Nietzsche’s affirmative critique of reason, 2) how one can find rudiments of a pluralization of the concept of reason in Nietzsche's body of work, as well as 3) traces of a new, qualitatively different form of ecological reason for the time called the Anthropocene – with all its problems and possibilities. In doing so, this paper will demonstrate how Nietzsche can be very productively applied to contemporary eco-philosophical discussions."

Toxic Temple @ Super Science Me on Radio Orange & Leporello at Radio Ö1

Right in time before our opening "Einweihung" tomorrow, Toxic Temple will appear in the radios twice today and tomorrow morning!

My favorite radio show "Super Science Me" has dedicated a full, one-hour episode to Toxic Temple, which you can listen to live at Radio Orange from 18-19h today. We will talk a lot about communication with the beyond of humanity, new deadly beauties, the inner life of machines and the joy of intoxication. Furthermore, you will be able to hear some of my prayer/poems to the toxic, recordings of machine sounds by Anna Lerchbaumer and two excursions into nuclear semiotics and the sewage sludge by radio host Julia Grillmayr herself.
